Formulation with Intention
How we talk about skincare, and how we don't
A short note on the language you will—and won't—find across ELA Rituals and this journal.
It is easy to make skincare sound like magic. Percentages, before-and-afters, a borrowed word from a laboratory. We have chosen not to write that way, and it seems only fair to explain what we do instead.
When a detail about a product is not yet confirmed, we say so. You will see the phrase "to be confirmed" on our product pages and it means exactly that: the information is being finalised and we would rather leave a gap than fill it with something we cannot stand behind.
A gap we are honest about is worth more than a claim we cannot keep.
Experiences, not evidence
Members of Rituals With You share how products fit into their everyday routines. Those experiences are real and they matter to us, but they are not clinical results and we will never present them as such. When we quote a member, it is their experience—not a promise about yours.
Why the journal exists
This journal is where we think out loud: about formulation as a craft, about the rituals people build around their skin, and about what we are learning from the community. Some entries will be short. None will tell you what to expect from a product before we can say it truthfully.
